Your signage is an investment for your business and it is one that should be protected.  Lighted signs are heavy and fragile which means they should only be handled by experienced professionals that know how to safely handle and install them.  A sign may be the first impression a customer has of your business so it is important it is installed correctly and looks its absolute best.

Lighted signage also requires some electrical knowledge and the ability to work with electrical components safely which many individuals are not qualified for.  Electrical work can be very dangerous so it is always something that tis best left to qualified and trained professionals.  Further, trained professionals have the tools necessary to properly install lighted signs.  And, lighted signs are far from light, they can be very challenging to safely lift.  Don’t injure yourself or someone else, or damage your sign, by trying to lift and install a sign by yourself.  No only are the signs heavy but they often have to be lifted overhead which can mean climbing letters or trying to balance while installing – not a good idea.  When you want your lighted sign installed correctly the first time, professional sign installation is the only way to go.

One of the big considerations when upgrading lighting is whether or not you have LED lighting and if you want to implement LED lighting.  While the initial investment in LED lighting may be higher than other types of lighting, it will pay for itself in the long run by saving a significant amount of energy and bulbs do not need to be replaced for much, much longer than traditional light bulbs (as in, decades).

Some individuals might be apprehensive to implement LED lighting because older LED lighting did not have warmth and were somewhat harsh.  But, LED lights have made many advancements over the years. Cnet explains the color arrays available in LED lights today, “As shown off by the Philips Hue, LED bulbs are capable of displaying an impressive color range, from purple to red, to a spectrum of whites and yellows. For the home, however, you’re likely looking for something similar to the light that incandescents produce. The popular colors available for LEDs are “warm white” or “soft white,” and “bright white.” Warm white and soft white will produce a yellow hue, close to incandescents, while bulbs labeled as bright white will produce a whiter light, closer to daylight and similar to what you see in retail stores.”

There is no straightforward answer to when the right time is to upgrade your lighting but it can be achieved two ways – as each light goes out/or fixture goes out if style, or all at once.  It is more cost effective to do a little at a time but it can look strange to have multiple different lights and light fixtures. Upgrading all at once may cost more initially but will make a big impact and is an investment that has a big return on investment.
